Speaking with our Correspondent CHIEMEKA ADINDU, the affected customers said there is no basis for such charges as there are existing bank charges anytime they make a transaction using the USSD platform.
They called on the Federal government to intensify their negotiations with mobile telecommunication networks to bring a halt to such policy.
It would be recalled that the Federal government had on Monday asked the telecommunication network involved to suspend the charges until further notice.
The suspension came shortly after the telecom network sent messages to their customers informing them that USSD access to banking services will be charged four naira per twenty seconds from October twenty one 2019.
USSD is a communication protocol used by GSM cellular telephones to communicate with the mobile network operator’s computers.
