GHESILA KHAN was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissioner on accusation of bribery in the sum of one hundred and eighty million naira to influence the results of the 2015 general election.
In his ruling on the bail application, Justice SALIU SAIDU slammed the sum of one hundred million naira with two sureties in like sum on GHESILA KHAN.
Justice SAIDU further ordered that one of the sureties must be a traditional ruler while the other must be a director in the Federal or Rivers state civil service.
The trail Judge also ordered GHESILA KHAN to submit her international passport to the Court Registrar.
The ruling is against the submission of counsel to the EFCC, who had asked the court to refuse bail to GESILA KHAN.
Speaking with newsmen outside the courtroom, SELEKOWEI LARRY, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and lawyer to GHESILA KHAN, welcomed the bail for his client.
Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the former Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner was arraigned alongside her alleged accomplice, PETER POPNIN.
The matter was adjourned until 5th of July for hearing.
