Bernard Mikko had approached the court asking for the disqualification of Tonye Cole as the governorship candidate of APC ahead of the 2023 general elections, claiming that the primary that brought Tonye Cole contravenes the new electoral act and that Tonye-Cole lacks the character following a white paper report against him by the state government.
Flag-Amachree who came second in the primaries, had applied to join in the matter, saying that whatever affects the process will affect his participation in the party primary which was opposed by Bernard Mikko’s Counsel.
But the presiding Judge, Justice, Ayuah Phoebe in her ruling, granted the application for joinder by the counsel to Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, Olusegun Jolaawo and thereafter adjourned till 11th of October, 2022 for hearing.
