Thousands of foreigners are among millions of people stuck in the central Chinese city of Wuhan as the country struggles to get to grips with the spread of a SARS-like virus which has claimed a hundred and six lives nationwide.
In Japan, officials confirmed that they are beginning to evacuate Japanese nationals, starting with around two hundred stranded inside Wuhan in Hubei province.
In Australia, the foreign ministry said it is working on a plan to transport home all Australian nationals, most of whom it said are dual nationals.
Officials added they had received about four hundred calls from Australians in China registering for evacuation.
In India; Local media reported the Indian government will request clearance from Beijing to take more than two hundred and fifty citizens out of Wuhan and that a Boeing seven-four-seven in Mumbai is on standby.
Indonesia said there are two hundred and thirty-four Indonesians in China and about hundred are in Wuhan.
Other countries working on evacuation plan from China include; Sri Lanka, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines, United States, France, Germany, Morocco and Spain.
