CJN: Onnoghen defends Pres Buhari, says Presidency needs no threat or Ultimatum to perform constitutional duties.

The position of Justice ONNOGHEN was contained in a statement circulated to the media, in which the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria advised that the matter should not be allowed to degenerate and polarize the country.

According to Justice ONNOGHEN, President MUHAMADU BUHARI does not need any threat or Ultimatum to perform his constitutional duties.

Although he expressed appreciation to those who are concerned about his fate in the apex court, Justice ONNOGHE noted that threatening the President to have his appointment confirmed was disrespectful to the office he occupies.

Meanwhile; a Lagos-based lawyer, EBUN-OLU ADEGBORUWA, is now threatening a showdown against the government, mobilizing for the shutting down of court premises if the delay persisted.

Responding to questions on a national television program monitored in Port Harcourt, ADEGBORUWA described the inaction of the Federal Government on the matter as war against the judiciary.

The right activist lawyer called on Vice President, YEMI OSINBAJO and other well meaning Nigerians to advise President MUHAMADU BUHARI to do the right thing.
