The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has urged Nigerians to learn basic combat skills as a means of protecting themselves in times of danger.
Speaking on Thursday, General Musa compared martial arts training such as Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo to essential survival skills like driving and swimming.
He further suggested that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should incorporate unarmed combat training into its programme to better equip Nigerian graduates with self-defence skills against what he described as “dark-hearted men.”
The CDS stressed that such training would enhance personal safety and resilience across the country.
