Cameroon Government Sentence Opposition Leader to Twenty-Five Years in Prison for Hostility against Homeland

ABOUBAKAR SIDDIKI was jailed by a military court after he was accused of trying to instigate a revolution and contempt of President PAUL BIYA.
But Amnesty International has condemned the decision of a military court, which makes SIDDIKI the latest victim of the Cameroonian authorities’ strangling of opposition voices.
In a statement; the leading rights group said no credible evidence was presented to the court to convict the opposition leader, who was arrested in 2014.
