The Bille Community in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State has raised alarm over what it described as mounting threats to its peace, security, and means of livelihood, allegedly perpetrated by Mujahid Asari Dokubo and his private security outfit, known as the Amama Soldiers.
In a press briefing, the Bille Council of Chiefs accused Asari Dokubo, who is the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri, of orchestrating acts of aggression against the Bille people through his armed group.
Spokesperson of the Council, Alabo Boma Dappa, called on both the Federal and Rivers State Governments to urgently intervene and prevent what he warned could lead to a breakdown of law and order in the area.
Dappa further alleged that there are plans by Asari Dokubo to launch an attack on Bille Kingdom as part of a broader agenda of territorial expansion. He emphasized that while the Bille people remain peace-loving, they are fully prepared to defend their land and heritage against any form of external aggression.
The Council urged security agencies to investigate the alleged threats and take immediate steps to safeguard the lives and property of the Bille people. As of the time of this report, neither Asari Dokubo nor the Rivers State Government had issued a formal response.
