Authorities in Australia  are expected to charge two persons out of five people arrested in rival anti-Islam and anti-racism rallies in Sydney.
The demonstrations saw hundreds protest across the country  with violent clashes reported in Melbourne, as police officers mounted a strong presence in cities  to keep the two sides apart.
The pair were caught in a protest where one hundred anti-Islam protesters from the Reclaim Australia and United Patriots Front groups waved the national flag and yelled chants, with signs declaring “Say no to Sharia”.
Reports say the protesters were met by around two hundred and fifty counter-demonstrators who carried banners including “No racism, no Islamophobia”.
Police, including riot squad officers and mounted units, packed Sydney’s central business district to separate the rival groups.
