Leaders of the party summoned the embattled former Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, ABDULMUMINI JIBRIN to a meeting yesterday over his face-off with the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA and other principal officers.
After the closed-door meeting that lasted more than three hours, the APC Deputy National Chairman-North, LAWAL SHUAIBU? told newsmen that it was not the intention of the party to pass judgment or invoke disciplinary action against anyone.
The APC Deputy National Chairman also said no peace deal had been reached for now, adding that consultations continues with the two sides in a bid to find the best approach to resolving the controversy.
However, ABDULMUMINI JIBRIN refused to speak to newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, only emphasizing that he was at the APC secretariat in response to a summon by the party.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH repots that JIBRIN had on Monday submitted petitions to the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Service, as well as the EFCC and ICPC, calling for investigation of the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA and eleven other principal officers.
