The Rivers APC said it believes the borrowing spree by Governor WIKE is a cheap and disingenuous means of mortgaging the future of the state and its people.
The APC said condemns the borrowing trend with all the vehemence that it can muster, stressing that it would be proven right by posterity.
Against the backdrop of the criticism of the immediate-past APC government, the Rivers APC said former governor ROTIMI AMAECHI never frittered away three trillion Naira in eight years as claimed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, AUSTIN TAM-GEORGE.
APC said it believes the Commissioner was only continuing in his past-time of reeling out imaginary figures to suit his motives, and urged TAM-GEORGE to cross-check his records to avoid the risk of make-believe.
The party equally asked the Information and Communication Commissioner to approach the Central Bank of Nigeria to ascertain whether the Amaechi Administration obtained four billion naira agricultural loan or got a grant from the apex bank before making his bogus assertions.
