The individuals who claimed to be indigenes of the Niger Delta Region also want the court to stop the planned screening of the newly constituted board by the National Assembly.
The first set of defendants in the suit are Attorney General of the federation, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senate President, National Assembly , the Clark of the National Assembly, NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Acting Managing Director of NDDC.
The second set of the defendants in the suit are all the newly executive board members and Representatives of the various states in the commission.
The plaintiffs are seeking the order of interlocutory injunction against the Nigeria Senate, the Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives and members from screening or confirmation of the newly constituted NDDC board.
