The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, described the ongoing protests as politically motivated and claimed that the vandals had left a notice indicating their intention to return.
Okocha alluded that midnight meetings had been held to plan the attacks, and accused the protests of being aimed at President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Minister of Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike.
He criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara for allegedly using the protests for personal gain and warned that such actions would not hinder APC’s role as a viable opposition.
Okocha called on security agencies to enhance their vigilance and protect property, questioning the need for the nationwide protests in light of President Tinubu’s recent broadcast addressing national issues.
