Amendment of Ugandan Constitution seeks to remove age limit for Presidents.

The Constitution Amendment Bill has been listed for publication in the Uganda Gazette before it would be introduced to the parliament.

 

The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Major General KAHINDA OTAFIIRE said the amendment intends to abolish the maximum age of seventy-five years for the president.

 

The proposed amendment intends to make way for President YOWERI MUSEVENI to run in next election billed for 2021, when he would have attained seventy-six years in age.
