All is not well in Okogbe community in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, as the people have cried out for help following recurring violent attacks and killings.

The latest in the series of violent attacks in Okogbe is the killing of one Chief GARRICKS by gunmen believed to indigenes of Ekpeye kingdom.Some stakeholders from Okogbe community, including GREEN DADDY-JOHN who raised the alarm, said there was an urgent need for intervention by security agencies.DADDY-JOHN told our correspondent in an interview that the vigilante group set up by the King of Ekpeye Kingdom is no longer serving the purpose for which it was established.He alleged that some members of the local vigilante group have been operating outside the mandate of providing security for the entire people of Ekpeye, and should be brought to book.Also speaking; another member of Okogbe in Ahoada-West, EDHU CHIOSOM said inhabitants of the community now leave in fear because of the recurring attacks and failure by government and security agencies to protect them.
CHIOSOM said the people of Okogbe are ready to welcome the deployment of troops to enforce security in the community and other parts of Ekpeye Kingdom.
