Displaying placards with inscriptions condemning the PHED, the women complained that their communities have not been supplied electricity during the day for over a year.
Our correspondent reports that the women from Ozuoba, Ogbogoro and Rumukwachi first marched to the Palace of the Paramount Ruler of Akpor, Eze ANELE ORIEBE to register their complaint.
Nyenwe-Ali Akpor, Eze ANELE ORIEBE informed the women that he had made several efforts have the PHED to resolve the power supply problem.
EZE ORIEBE also criticized the PHED for sending what he described as outrageous estimated bill of over sixty million naira to the communities.
Our correspondent reports that two of the women involved in the protest fainted and were rushed to hospital as the group left the Ozuoba Power Injection Station.
