Principles, head masters continue extorting Money in schools despte Gov. Wike’s warning

This is in light of recent complaints by parents of some pupils in Government owned schools in the State, who have continued to lament alleged extortion by various school authorities.

Our correspondent encountered one of such parents in a state-owned primary school in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state who complained bitterly that one of her wards’ name was exempted from the school register because she was yet to pay the sum of four thousand naira for school uniform.

The parent explained that even after making a part-payment of one thousand naira, her child’s name was yet to be entered into the school register.
