Senate President Advocates for Involvement of Young People in Leadership Positions

Senator SARAKI shared his views at the opening of the African Regional Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Young Parliamentarians Forum at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The Senate President also underscored efforts that are being made by the 8th National Assembly towards empowering the youth to become initiators of positive energies for global peace.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, YAKUBU DOGARA warned that African nations risk dire consequences if they fail to set agenda for youth and include them in governance.
DOGARA said Africa has a fast growing and mostly youthful population, stressing that governments cannot afford the social and political costs of neglecting the young persons.
He urged the delegates to not only proffer solutions to the challenges raised, but to go back to their different countries with the hunger to for implementation of the resolutions.
