Trouble started yesterday following the discovery of the remains of HEAVEN IHUN-IGWE near the boundary between Rumuekini and Aluu community in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
The Nyenwe-Ali Akpor has held meetings with representatives of Rumuekini and Ogbogoro communities where he sued for peace following rising tension between the two sides.
Eze ORIEBE cautioned the people against taking the laws into their hands, just as he appealed for support for security agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of IHUN-IGWE.
Speaking with our correspondent on telephone more than twenty-four hours after the body of the deceased was discovered, the Akpor Paramount Ruler confirmed that the police were making progress in their investigation.
The intervention of the Akpor Paramount Ruler came in the wake of disturbances in Rumuekini community following alleged invasion by some persons from Ogbogoro seeking to avenge the death of their kinsman.
Our correspondent reports that it took the intervention of policemen to restore normalcy in Rumuekini and the evacuation of the body of the deceased.
