The exchange started after Senator ISAH MISAU accused the Police High Command of taking bribe in the consideration of police officers for special promotion.
Senator MISAU has further alleged that the Inspector General of Police was collecting ten billion naira illegally every month and also taking bribes for the posting of Commissioners of Police to states that are considered juicy.
But in reaction to the latest accusation, the Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD, said it has been found that Senator ISAH HAMMAN MISAU is the same person as DSP MOHAMMED ISA HAMMAN who is on the Nigeria Police Force Officers Staff List, who was last posted to Niger State Police Command on 24th September, 2010.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent, the Force spokesman said the Police High Command decided to respond to the claim by Senator MISAU to disabuse the minds of members of the Public over what he described as fabricated lies and unsubstantiated allegations.
He said the misleading, misrepresentation of facts and concocted allegations by the Senator against the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force are unfounded fallacies.
JOMOH MOSHOOD alleged that Senator ISAH HAMMAN MISAU deserted the Nigeria Police Force on 24th September, 2010 when he was redeployed to Niger State Command.
MOSHOOD alleged that the retirement letter presented to the journalists by Senator MISAU was suspiciously forged and dubiously obtained.
He said the letter which was dated 5th March, 2014, was issued more than four years after DSP MOHAMMED ISA HAMMAN, now Senator ISAH HAMMAN MISAU deserted the Force.
