This followed the announcement of the suspension of ALLWELL ONYESOH as Chairman of the APC Caucus.
A group led by former House of Representatives member, OGBONNA NWUKE, accused ONYESOH of anti-party activities and disrespect for the leader of the party.
However; eleven members of the seventeen-member APC Leadership Council in Etche have resolved that Chief ALLWELL ONYESOH remains the Chairman and leader of the APC Leadership Council.
The decision was reached at the end of a meeting of the APC Leadership Council in Etche on Tuesday, which held at the residence of Chief ALLWELL ONYESOR who also presided over the deliberations.
The position of the Etche APC Leadership Council was made known JEROME OKERE who is a member of the council.
He cited provisions of Article Twelve Subsection 12 and 4 of the APC Constitution which stipulates that the local government party chairman is the chairman of the caucus.
JEROME OKERE said ALLWELL ONYESOH has not at any time disrespected the leader of APC in Rivers State, in the person of Minister of Transportation, CHIBUIKE AMAECHI, adding that there was no conflict between them.
OKERE also said the group condemn in totality the action of the OGBONNA NWUKE Group and has set up a five-man committee to investigate the group.
Also speaking in an interview with our correspondent, the APC Chairman in Etche, Elder MUSA ELEKWA maintained that ALLWELL ONYESOH cannot be suspended as the chairman of APC caucus in Etche, as he was not appointed or elected by the caucus.
Elder ELEKWA also dismissed the claim by the OGBONNA NWUKE Group that the APC Caucus in Etche held a meeting where it took the decision.
Elder ELEKWA said he is the only person that has the authority to direct the party secretary to convene a meeting, as Deputy Leader of the APC, based on the approval of Chief ONYESOH who is the leader.
Elder MUSA ELEKWA is the APC Chairman in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
