The Director of Army Public Relations; Brigadier General SANI
USMAN said preliminary investigation of an aborted attack in
the area yesterday shows that the attackers were from within
the town.
Brigadier General USMAN said it took the timely intervention
of the military to thwart the attack by Boko Haram insurgents.
He said the terrorists that attack the village are well known to
the people, adding that the same village was never attacked
throughout the period of the insurgency for some inexplicable
reasons.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent; the Nigerian
Army warned that it was a criminal offence to continue to shield
or harbour any known Boko Haram terrorist.
It said terrorists must be exposed and their movements
promptly reported to the security agencies.
The Army said terrorists are inhuman and barbaric, and
therefore cannot be trusted to spare anyone in perpetuating
their inhuman acts.
