Some concerned Nigerians are not willing to allow President MUHAMMADU BUHARI have his way in the appointment of officials to work with him at the federal level. This report say an Abuja-based legal practitioner, MARCEL DIM-UDEBUANI, has approached a Federal High Court sitting to challenge the constitutionality of the appoints so far made by President BUHARI. DIM-UDEBUANI is accusing the President of violating the Federal Character principle as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He wants the court to determine among other things, that the exclusion of the South-East geo-political zone in the twenty-five appointments so far made by the President is unconstitutional and divisive. The Chairman of the Federal Character Commission is joined in the suit as the second defendant.
