The Dadaab camp holds the reputation as the largest in the world, and it has been the intention of the Kenyan government to repatriate Somali refugees who inhabit the place.
The move to close the camp was part of measures being adopted by the Kenyan government to protect the country from security threats, due to recurring attacks by al- Shabab Islamist militant group operating from the camp.
But the High Court judge ruled that the decision to forcibly repatriate the refugees was tantamount to an act of group persecution and was, therefore, unconstitutional.
Reports say Dadaab accommodates more than three hundred thousand people.
