Rivers state govt set to tackle black sooth pollution.

This was part of the resolutions of the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, which was chaired by Governor NYESOM WIKE.

The task force headed by the Commissioner of Environment, Professor ROSELINE KONYA, also has the Commissioner of Special Duties, EMEKA ONOWU and the Commissioner of Information, AUSTIN TAM-GEORGE as members. 

The job of the task force is to work with technical experts and other relevant stakeholders to investigate the cause of the pollution and resolve the associated environmental hazards.

Briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner of Information, AUSTIN TAM-GEORGE said the Commissioner of Environment briefed the council on the preliminary investigation conducted by the ministry.
