An investigative panel set up by the Inspector-General of Police, while presenting its report in Abuja, said the money was recovered from twenty-three suspects.
The chairman of the panel, DAMIAN OKORO, who is a Deputy Commissioner of Police, disclosed that the sum of three hundred and sixty million naira had been given out by the Rivers State government as bribe to electoral officials.
DCP OKORO further disclosed that some of the electoral officers confessed to have received fifteen million naira, while the most senior electoral officers got twenty million naira each.
