The new National Judicial Policy is an improvement on the existing one, which includes guideline from a similar policy operated by the National Judicial Institute.
The policy, which is to be launched in Abuja today, bars judges and judicial officials from accepting gifts from other arms of government.
It also prohibits lobbying of other arms of government by the judiciary or any institution under its watch.
On like in the previous policy, compliance to the provisions of the new national judicial policy is mandatory.
It also requires that where complaints on allegations against judicial officers are submitted for investigation, the complainant shall be made to undertake not to do anything that could prejudice investigation or any actions that may be taken.
The new National Judicial Policy is in response to the recent security clampdown on suspected some corrupt judges of State High Court, Federal High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
