Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has expressed confidence that Nigeria will recover from its opening defeat to Malawi at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), urging fans to continue supporting the team despite the setback.
Oshoala acknowledged the disappointment of the 3-2 loss but insisted that the tournament is far from over. She said the players remain focused on qualifying for the next stage and are determined to respond positively in their remaining group matches.
The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year appealed to Nigerians to stand by the Super Falcons, expressing confidence that the team has the quality and resilience to bounce back and continue its quest for another continental title.
