Rights Activist Urges Rivers Assembly to Confirm Commissioner Nominees

A rights activist, Charles Jaja, has commended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and members of the State House of Assembly for working together to produce the state’s 2026 budget.

Jaja, however, stressed that the successful implementation of the budget depends on the appointment of commissioners to oversee the various ministries.

He appealed to the Rivers State House of Assembly to expedite the screening and confirmation of commissioner nominees already submitted by the governor, noting that their appointment would strengthen governance and improve service delivery.

According to him, the prompt confirmation of the nominees will accelerate development and ensure the effective execution of government programmes during the remaining months of the administration.
