39 Killed in Fresh Israeli Strikes on Lebanon as Cross-Border Violence Intensifies

At least 39 people have been killed following another day of intense Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, according to the country’s health ministry.

The ministry said one of the deadliest strikes hit the southern town of Saksakiyeh, where at least seven people were killed, including a child, as bombardments continued across multiple areas.

The Israel Defense Forces said its operations were directed at the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, adding that it was aware of reports of civilian casualties and harm to non-combatants.

The exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has continued despite a ceasefire announcement linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump, which was declared between the governments of Israel and Lebanon on April 16.

Tensions remain high along the border, with both sides sustaining intermittent attacks despite diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation.
