Assistant coach of Rivers United, Fatai Olanrewaju, says the club is paying the price for balancing domestic league matches with its CAF Champions League campaign.
Olanrewaju explained that the congested fixture schedule and long travels associated with continental competition have taken a toll on the players. He noted that the technical crew is working hard to manage fatigue and keep the squad competitive in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Despite recent struggles in the league, he expressed confidence that the team will regain form and finish the season strongly.
