London Metropolitan Police plans to deploy more armed police personnel on the streets.

This was made known by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir BERNARD HOGAN-HOWE and Mayor of London, SADIQ KHAN.

The BBC quoted Sir BERNARD saying there would be more armed officers at well-known landmarks.

He said the move is in response to terrorist attacks in Europe, as part of efforts to reassure the public and deter would-be attackers.
