The PSC said the fraudsters are already demanding money from applicants of the on-going recruitment of personnel into the Nigeria Police Force by the Police Service Commission.
The Commission has already concluded the state-by-state screening and would soon begin the second phase of the process leading to the recruitment of ten thousand policemen and officers.
A statement released by the Head of Press and Public Relations of the PSC, IKECHUKWU ANI disclosed that Sir OKIRO does not have a Facebook account and has never operated one.
The Police Service Commission further advised unsuspecting applicants to beware of the fraudsters and to not allow themselves be carried away by the desperation to be recruited into the Police Force.
Sir OKIRO who is a former Inspector General of Police maintained that the recruitment exercise would be transparent and based on merit.
OKIRO said the Commission would resist any pressure to undermine or compromise the integrity of the process and the outcome.
He also warned that the fraudsters would soon be rounded up, as the police was already after the culprits and will soon apprehend them.
The PSC Chairman said anybody paying for any assistance to be recruited will definitely be disappointed.
He said security operatives are on the alert to arrest those who are offering or receiving financial gratification to influence selection applicants.
The Commission is also calling on the public to report any underhand practices in respect of the recruitment.
