A text message circulated by the Coordinator of the Ogoni Solidarity Forum CELESTINE AKPOBARI read that the move was without consultation with Kaani community leaders.

Rivers Govt to dredge Kaani River for sand in construction of Saakpenwa -Bori Road.
OKPOBARI said the Rivers from which the sands is going to be taken is the only source of drinking water in the community.
He called on the state government to halt the planned action to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
AKPOBARI said the people of Kanni Community will do everything within the law to stop the action.
