A Port Harcourt High Court has jailed fifty-eight-year-old JOHN OFUEGBU for two-years for sexual abuse of his ten-year-old daughter.Justice ADOLPHUS ENEBELI delivered judgment in the case after the minor testified that her father had carnal knowledge of her times; including twice in his bedroom and once in a hotel around Trans-Amada area of Port Harcourt.Justice ENEBELI delivered the judgment in spite of the denial of the charges by JOHN OFUEGBU, who claims that certain persons were exploiting his quarrel with his wife.But the trial judge said he was convinced by the available evidence, and berated OFUEGBU for taking undue advantage of the bond he shared with his daughter.In her reaction to the judgment, State Prosecutor, CORDELIA EKE told our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA that the judgment would serve as a deterrent to other randy fathers.On his part, the defence counsel, EGESIN OWANA said there was a chance his client would appeal the judgment. Our correspondent reports that JOHN OFUEGBU has already five years in detention before the judgment was delivered today on the rape charge.
