Nigeria Doctors Hold 2023 NEC`s Meeting, Call For Streamlining Carriage Of Justice By Judicial Office Holders

The Association, in a communiqué issued at the end of their National Executive Council Meeting held at Osogbo, Osun State said their advice followed concerns raised from the conduct of some judicial officers and the increasing public distrust of the judiciary in recent times.

According to the communiqué which was signed by the Deputy Secretary General of the group, Doctor Anas Alhaji-Idris, the group said streamlining the carriage of justice by judicial officeholders is urgently needed to renew public trust in the judiciary.

The Health Workers expressed concern that some state governments effect promotions without consequential financial implementations and are yet to pay attention to the welfare issues of their members in the affected states despite serious commitments and advocacy visits by the leadership of the association.

The Association in the meeting themed; “Work-Related Hazards Among Doctors, a Neglected Cause of Morbidity and Mortality Time to Speak Out”, revealed a proposed Generalist Allowance for General Duty Doctors and a need to present it to the Federal Government for implementation to appreciate the herculean role played by their members.
