Chairman of the Rivers Civil Society Organizations, Enefaa Georgewill in an interview with correspondent Sandra Kenneth expressed disappointment over the donation stating that it is not wrong for an entity to make donations but stressed that it is wrong for a government who is yet to develop it’s terrain to do so.
Enefaa further stressed that flooding issues that needs urgent attention has not been looked into adding that every year buildings, plants and people’s source of livelyhood are being destroyed due to a disaster that he said can be managed.
He stated that petitioners and civil servants have been suffering due to lack of payment of gratuities arguing that the money could have gone a long way for them.
Enefaa who expressed dissatisfaction over the donation pointed out lack of bursary payment to students for years adding that housing, workers accommodation at the Secretariat is dilapidated and needs repairs.
