A top police official said the incident took place at the busy weekly Tiniali market outside the state’s Kokrajhar town where hundreds of people gathered for trade.
The Police source said aleast three to four militants attacked the market place while one was killed.
He said the Police have launched an intensive operation to track down others involved in the terror attack.
Police suspected that the militants who carried out the attack were rebels of the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland in Kokrajhar, which has been fighting for a separate homeland for the region’s ethnic Bodo people.
