Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign full-back Jose Angel Crespo from Cordoba, according to a statement from the Spanish side.

The former Spain U21 international was part of the 2006 UEFA Cup-winning squad during his time at Sevilla, where he began his career, and has also played for Racing Santander and in Italy with Padova, Bologna and Verona.

Manchester United have signed Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a three-year contract.

Romero, whose deal with United includes the option of a fourth year, moves on a free transfer from Sampdoria after his contract expired.

Former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba has signed with Montreal Impact, the MLS side have confirmed.

The Impact secured Drogba’s services after completing a trade with Chicago Fire for the right to negotiate a free transfer with the Ivorian star, who has agreed an 18-month contract.

Algerian football clubs have been banned from signing foreign players because of a severe financial crisis caused by a plunge in oil revenues, the national football federation said yesterday.

Algeria's oil export revenue has almost halved so far this year, crippling the economy of the North African nation, whose oil sales account for more than 95 percent of export revenues.
