In sports; a lawsuit has been slammed against world football governing body, FIFA, over its transfer regulations.

The Zurich Commercial Court in Switzerland is to determine the legality of the regulations that ban the transfer of players under the age of eighteen.

The case is related to an unnamed seventeen-year-old African player and his parents.

The BBC quoted a spokesman for Zurich law firm, which has brought the case, confirming in a statement that the player, who had represented his country at youth level, was unable to move to a club in the European Union because of the FIFA rules.

The statement noted that the unnamed player and his family are not happy for probably missing a unique chance of a professional and social advancement.
