The Nigerian Senate is expected to continue the screening of ministerial nominees today, as the National Assembly resumes plenary .Before the adjournment of sitting last week, the Senate screened seven additional ministerial nominees, including the much anticipated screening of former governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
You will recall that the PDP Caucus in the Senate did not participate in the screening of AMAECHI due to the decision of the Senate leadership not to consider the report of the Ethics Committee on a petition against his nomination.
In the meantime; the anticipated confirmation of ROTIMI AMAECHI is expected to throw the Senate into a stormy session, as the PDP Senators would try to frustrate the move.
Before now, the Senate Leader, Senator ALI NDUME has said the confirmation of AMAECHI cannot be stopped by the PDP Senators who are in minority.
