Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE, has criticized the Federal Government for ignoring the ideals of Nigeria’s independence.

Governor WIKE said for over three years since the APC Administration assumed office, there is done nothing to show, except failures, excuses, intimidation and insecurity.

Governor WIKE also accused the APC of stealing elections and weakening of Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

The Governor made the remarks while delivering an address at an event in Port Harcourt to celebrate Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day.

He claimed that the APC Federal Government has deliberately damaged the National Assembly, the Judiciary, and the security agencies.

Governor WIKE said Nigeria was facing difficult times and is on the edge, with democracy at the crossroads and good governance in abeyance.

WIKE said never in the history of the country have Nigerians been subjected to untold sufferings as a result of the direct, erratic and ill-conceived economic policies and decisions of the Federal Government.

The Rivers State Governor urged Nigerians to use the 2019 general election to vote in a new leadership that would drive the Federal Government in the right direction.
