The trial of Pastor Chidiebere Okoafor for multiple murders has been stalled at the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.

Pastor Okafor was arrested in December last year for allegedly killing his pregnant mistress, Concila Ezeawa, along with her a friend, Uloma Onweagba and her infant daughter, Christabel.

The Pastor of Altar of Solution Church at Izuoma-Afam, in Oyigbo Local Government Area allegedly murdered the women and the little girl in a bid to cover up an unwanted pregnancy.

Our correspondent reports that the accused person has since pleaded not guilty and turned around to accuse the police of fabricating the charges against him.

However; the case was called up for hearing today, but the Federation of International Women Lawyers, FIDA, made a representation, requesting to take over the prosecution of the matter.

The defence counsel, Innocent Ekwu, opposed FIDA’s application, and Justice C.D. Green adjourned the matter to 26th September for hearing.

Outside the courtroom, counsel to the Police, Godday Amadi told our correspondent Victor Ezeama that he was willing to handover the case to FIDA under the circumstances.
