Terror Attack in Lower Manhattan, New York, Eight People Confirmed Dead

Eight people have been confirmed dead in what is being treated as a terror attack in Lower Manhattan area of New York.

The Police Commissioner JAMES O‘NEILL said six victims were pronounced dead at the scene and two more at a nearby hospital.
The casualties include five friends from Argentina who were visiting New York to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their high school graduation.
Belgium’s foreign minister has also confirmed that a Belgian citizen was among those killed by the truck driver who rammed into people on a cycle path.
Reports say a twenty-nine-year-old Uzbek immigrant, who was behind the wheels, was shot and injured by police as he left the vehicle.
President DONALD TRUMP has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to step up vetting measures in the wake of the attack.
Officials are treated the incident as a terror attack, which is also the deadliest in the city since the September-Eleven attacks.
