Governors of the five states in the South-East Geopolitical zone have risen from a meeting in Enugu with a call on the Federal Government to give attention to the decayed infrastructure, such as roads and airports, in the region.

In a communiqué read before newsmen by the Governor of Ebonyi State, DAVE UMAHI, the South-East Governors particularly drew attention to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and all federal roads across the region.
Governor UMAHI said the South-East Governors Forum called on the Federal Government to take advantage of the dry season to repair the roads and the airport.
The South East state governors also called on the people of Anambra State to turnout in their number to vote in the governorship election on 18th November.
They urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure that the election holds as scheduled.
The meeting at the Enugu State Government House was also attended by states and federal lawmakers from the region, as well as leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
