Inspector General of Police Denies Donating SUVS for Presonal use of Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari
The Police High Command has denied donating two Sports Utility Vehicles for the personal use of the wife of the President, AISHA BUHARI.
However; the Command Headquarters confirmed that two buses were actually released for use by police personnel attached to AISHA BUHARI based on the request of her ADC, SANI M BABA-INNA, who is a Superintendent of Police.
The Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD made the disclosure in a statement in response to an allegation credited to Senator ISA MISAU in a newspaper publication.
MOSHOOD, who is a Senior Superintendent of Police, said the allegation by Senator MISAU was false and should be disregarded by the public.
The Force spokesman also said it was misleading and ill-motivated for Senator MISAU to have alleged that the Inspector General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS, manipulated his retirement age.
CSP MOSHOOD said what actually happened was that the Force Secretary Office had written to the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, drawing attention to the observation to an incorrect representation of the date of birth of IGP IDRIS.
MOSHOOD said instead of 15th January, 1959, what was written in the current staff list of Senior Police Officers was 3rd January, 1959.
