Rivers State Commissioner of Health, Professor PRINCEWILL CHIKE has charged medical doctors to always remember their Hippocratic oath.

Professor CHIKE noted that health workers are involved in humanitarian services, adding that the use of strike to settle industrial disputes put the lives of patients at risk.
The Health Commissioner gave the charge at the opening of the 2017 Physicians Week of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, in Port Harcourt.
The Health Commissioner also confirmed that government has advertised for vacancies in public health institutions but did not directly link the move to the strike embarked upon by members of the Joint Health Sector Union.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the NMA, Doctor DATONYE ALASIA, advised parents to take immunization of their children seriously to reduce the risk of contracting diseases.
