Akwa Ibom Police command confirms arrest 16 impersonating NDYWS for Buhari.

The Akwa Ibom State Police has confirmed the arrest and planned arraignment of sixteen persons operating under the name of Niger Delta Youths, Woman and Security Movement for Buhari.

The spokesman of the State Police Command, CHUKWU IKECHUKWU, said the suspects include ten male and six female

 

 

The Police Public Relations Officer said the suspects were arrested at a compound on Atiku Abubakar Way in Uyo on 30th of June on suspicion of selling fake recruitment forms to unsuspecting members of the public for six thousand and fifteen thousand naira.

 

 

He said members of the group, including the alleged mastermind, FELIX OBONKA from Delta State, sold forms in the guise of recruitment for the purpose of pipeline surveillance and protection.

 

 

CHUKWU IKECHUKWU said the applicants were promised of training by the Nigerian Army for placement in the Nigerian Navy, Police Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Department of State Services

 

 

IKECHUKWU said the suspects were allegedly caught with two sets of forms for Empowerment and Surveillance, as well as cash of one hundred and ninety thousand eight hundred naira.

 

 

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command spokesman said the leaders of the suspected fake recruitment syndicate have gone into hiding, while members of the public are advised to be mindful of groups and individuals they patronize for job opportunities.
