Gov Wike accuse FG of plotting to rigging Rivers Legislative rerun,impeachment.

Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE, has alleged the Federal Government plotted to rig the rerun legislative elections in the state last year to prepare the ground for his impeachment.

Governor WIKE said the plan was to hijack the State House of Assembly and remove him from office.

 

Speaking during a thanksgiving church service in Port Harcourt to mark the second year anniversary of his administration, Govenor WIKE also accused the Federal Government of trying to frustrate him.

 

 

Meanwhile; Governor NYESOM WIKE has promised to make the showcasing of the cultural heritage of Rivers people an annual event.

 

Governor WIKE gave this indication in an address to n audience at the Rivers Golden Jubilee Cultural Festival, which held at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

 

 

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, SIMEON NWAKAUDU, disclosed in a statement that the twenty-three local government areas in the state received cash awards of one million naira each.

 

 

The statement further noted that cultural troops from Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states also receive one million naira each from the Rivers States Government to taking part in the festival.
