The Police High Command is investigating a case of a police van that allegedly dragged a suspect on the road in Edo State capital, Benin City.

This was made known by ABAYOMI SHOGUNLE, who is the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit.

In a statement obtained by our correspondent, ACP SHOGUNLE assured that his men would unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the police operations that led to the viral video showing a suspect handcuffed to a stationary police patrol vehicle in Benin-City on Sunday 14th May.

He said preliminary investigation reveals that the Police at Esigie Division received information about a gathering of suspected cultists in preparatory for the commission of a felony.

SHODUNLE said a police team was dispatched to the scene where two male suspects were arrested while others escaped.

He said both arrested suspects were then loaded into the patrol vehicle and secured accordingly to prevent escape during transportation to the Police station.
